CLASS DESCRIPTIONS...
POWER YOGA - A vigorous practice combining breath and focus, while moving continuously through a fixed sequence of yoga postures. Designed to build and maintain internal heat; produce a cleansing sweat; expend calories; increase strength, muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination. For students in good physical condition, who are seeking a challenging workout. Some experience with yoga is recommended. (Ongoing)
FLOW YOGA - Traditional yoga postures and breathing techniques designed to increase strength and flexibility, revitalize the body and relax the mind. Modifications will be provided throughout the practice, making this class suitable for students of all fitness levels. Beginners are welcome. (Ongoing)
GENTLE YOGA - Gentle stretching and strength building postures designed to relieve stress and muscular tension, revitalize the body and relax the mind. This class is for the beginner student; individuals with minor injuries and/or limited flexibility; or for the advanced student seeking a less strenuous, restorative practice. (6 week series).
PRE-NATAL YOGA - Designed to build strength and stamina and prepare the body and mind for the challenges of pregnancy and labor. Some benefits of practicing yoga during pregnancy are...to relieve stress; maintain muscle tone, strength and flexibility; and to alleviate the discomforts caused by pregnancy, including sciatic pain, round ligament pain, and morning sickness. No experience necessary. (6 week series)
PARENT/CHILD YOGA (FAMILY YOGA) - Designed for families with children (ages 6+) who are ready to be introduced to yoga in a more traditional class setting. Parent/Child Yoga is very much like our regular flow yoga class, except that children are able to participate and enjoy the benefits of the practice. Children need to be able to stay on their mats and listen to the instructor, so as not to disrupt the rest of the class. This class will help to develop strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness and coordination, as well as self-confidence and increased concentration. It will also help to build inner strength, revitalizing the body and relaxing the mind. (6 week series)
BEGINNER’S SERIES - This gentle class will introduce the beginner student to the various asanas, proper modifications and alignment, and will prepare the student to enter an All Levels Flow class with comfort and confidence. (6 week series)
